About Jan Yves Remy, Ph.D

Director

Dr. Jan Yves Remy, Director of the Shridath Ramphal Centre for International Trade Law, Policy and Services (SRC) at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus, Barbados. Specialising in international trade law, regional integration, and Caribbean development, she coordinates the SRC’s flagship Masters in International Trade Policy (MITP) program. Dr. Remy is a distinguished WTO Chair, panellist in WTO trade disputes, and sits on various boards, including the John Jackson Moot Court Advisory Board and the Editorial Board of the Journal of International Economic Law.

She is a Co-Founder of the Caribbean Women in Trade network and Co-Lead of the Remaking Global Trade for a Sustainable Future Project. Additionally, Dr. Remy is the Founder of the Joint University Study Tour (JUST) and currently serves as Co-President of TradeLab, a global network providing trade and investment advice, particularly to developing countries. With a background in law, including a PhD (summa cum laude) from the Graduate Institute of Development Studies, she previously worked at Sidley Austin LLP and the Appellate Body of the WTO.
