Born a Londoner to immigrants from India. I emigrated to Michigan, USA, at the age of twenty. I worked in a variety of administrative positions whilst raising my children. I attended University at the age of thirty-eight to become an English teacher, graduating, instead, with a degree in Civil Engineering. The recession caused me to detour to Floodplain Management and GIS, where I worked first for my city, and then my State. Starting my own company, with a focus on sustainability and resiliency, has challenged me to make best use of the skills learned throughout my various careers.
