UfM will coordinate a panel in the Mediterranean Pavilion as part of COP27 to discuss the Sustainable Blue Economy challenges and opportunities in the “Mare Nostrum”. The objectives of this panel will be to:

1. Share the Sustainable Blue Economy challenges in the Mediterranean;
2. Identify joint opportunities for action;
3. Express political support to setting up a Blue Economy Mediterranean Partnership to reverse ecosystem degradation and foster a sustainable Blue Economy development.

This event will be crucial to signpost initial political support for the Blue Economy Mediterranean Partnership, acting as the basis for the pledging expected to take place in 2023.
