Malta is inviting you to launch their highly innovative startup ventures or scale up their existing ones, using Malta as their launch pad. The Malta Startup Residence Programme grants a 3+5 year residence permit, specifically designed to facilitate the immigration process of founders, co-founders, core employees, and immediate family members.

He began his career in the banking sector and worked with a number of local banks, occupying several roles in marketing and business development. In October 2014, he became Executive Director of Media and Marketing of the Maltese Presidency for the European Council. In 2017, he joined the Individual Investor Programme Agency as Chief Officer for Communications and Business Development, garnering important experience in the sector. Charles Mizzi graduated with a Master’s in Business Administration from the Henley Business School.

Kurt Farrugia was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Malta Enterprise on 1st August 2019. Previously, he served as Head of Government Communication and spokesperson for the Maltese Prime Minister between 2013 and 2019.
Mr Farrugia’s career before his role at the Office of the Prime Minister was in journalism and politics. He graduated in Communications and obtained a Masters Degree in Entrepreneurship at the University of Malta.

With over 30 years of experience in founding, operational, and advisory capacities, Gareth has conceptualized, implemented, and scaled multiple businesses and non-profit enterprises in Europe, the UK, and the United States. A British lawyer by training, Gareth holds a U.S. LLM in International Taxation & Financial Service Regulation and a post-graduate Diploma in European Union Law. Having previously lived in the UK and the US, Gareth moved to Malta in 2020.

Residency Malta Agency is the Government entity responsible for managing and promoting three residency programmes for non-EU nationals. The Malta Permanent Residence Programme, the Nomad Residence Permit and the Malta Startup Residence Programme.
