Union Puts Spotlight on Seasonal Workers’ Rights, Protection

Thousands of seasonal employees in Australia have joined the United Workers Union (UWU) to make sure that their pay, working conditions are satisfactory and their workplaces are safe.

The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility Scheme (PALM) and Seasonal Worker Program (SWP) are very important and many workers have greatly benefited from the programs. But a lot of workers have faced a number of issues that must be addressed and improved on for future workers.

Over the past few months, PALM workers from across the country have been meeting together to discuss these issues and how the government should improve PALM.
