I am the Communications Fellow at Island Innovation, providing support to our communications team in keeping our community engaged with Island Innovation’s events and progress. I was born and raised in Hawai’i and moved to San Francisco to pursue my bachelor’s degree in Economics at the University of San Francisco. Following my undergraduate studies, I interned with the Command Economist at the US Navy Pacific Command, focusing on the economic impacts of climate events in the Indo-Pacific region. After recently earning my master’s degree in Economics from Nova SBE in Lisbon, I am excited to combine my academic background and passion for sustainability as I join Island Innovation in their mission to foster sustainable development across islands worldwide.
This occasional newsletter highlights events and stories about innovation in sustainable development for rural, remote and island regions. We want to change the discourse to demonstrate how islandness can be a driver for innovation.
