Solar Head of State & Pacific Island Development Forum – Showcase of Projects Sponsored by India

This COP24 event entitled “Solar Head of State: Showcase of Projects in 11 Pacific Nations” celebrated the commitment by the Government of India for supporting the initiative to install solar energy on government buildings in all PIDF member states. Through funding support from the India-UN Development Partnership Fund operated by the United Nations Office of South-South Cooperation, PIDF is implementing this initiative together with Solar Head of State (SHOS). The event was hosted by James Ellsmoor (Solar Head of State) with interventions from François Martel (Pacific Island Development Forum), Xiaohua Zhang (UN Office of South-South Cooperation), Shishir Seth (International Solar Alliance) and Rajesh Gawande (Government of India). Additionally, there was a talk from Norma Cherry-Fevrier of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States on the aim for a similar initiative with Solar Head of State in that organization’s member states.
