Today’s official opening of the international conference will be marked by the following:

But SIDS4 discussions started last week

We’ve been on the ground for a few days now! 2 of our team members, Stacey Alvarez De La Campa (Partnerships Manager) and Linda Carti (Digital Communications Manager) arrived on Wednesday to attend many of the satellite events that took place before today’s official start.

One of them was the Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI) and Environmental Awareness Group (EAG)’s Civil Society Summit: Transformative Pathways to Caribbean Sustainable Development.

On Thursday and Friday, the event brought together key Caribbean civil society organizations to mobilise & prepare for SIDS4.

Over the weekend, the team attended the SIDS Global Business Network Forum 2024, organised by the UN-OHRLLS. With 4 main thematic sessions, this event explored themes related to blue-green growth, community empowerment, and investment opportunities. It was a great opportunity to connect with SIDS leaders, policymakers and society actors, to showcase achievements, and learn from global best practices.
