SIDS: A Just and Equitable Energy Transition towards a Climate- Resilient Future

This year at COP28 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) through the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Lighthouses Initiative, the Alliance of Small Islands States (AOSIS) and the COP28 Presidency is hosting the event: “Small Island Developing States: A Just and Equitable Energy Transition towards a Climate- Resilient Future” which aims to showcase SIDS’ progress towards a just and equitable energy transition and address strategies for holistic decarbonization, financing, and regulatory frameworks. It will also gather SIDS’ perspectives on the Loss and Damage Fund’s operationalization and set the priorities for the SIDS Lighthouses Initiative 3.0 launch in 2024.
