Recently, Island Innovation’s Project Manager Arianna Abdul-Nour was at the International Symposium on Remote Sensing of Environment, discussing the transformative potential of satellite technology in advancing sustainable development for. She explored how Earth Observation (EO) and space technology can drive economic resilience and sustainability, particularly for island communities such as Tuvalu.
She focused on employing satellites for advancing key UN Sustainable Development Goals, such as enhancing energy self-sufficiency (SDG 7), boosting climate resilience (SDG 13), and conserving marine ecosystems (SDG 14). Arianna also discussed the future of the EO workforce, emphasising the importance of skills like AI, automation, and data science in shaping the next generation of space innovation.
