About Bonnie Lewtas

Bonnie helps islands around the world become self-sufficient and resilient against climate change. She specializes on the linkages between energy, waste, water, food, and conservation solutions. Her work has taken her to many islands, especially in the Caribbean and Europe. Through her company TurtlCo, Bonnie works with the government of Friesland on the EU-Interreg Islands of Innovation project and is managing the Islands of Innovation virtual academy project funded by Interreg EU. Last year she worked on the launch of the new Global Project and Change Management program at HZ University of Applied sciences in Zeeland (Netherlands), teaching courses in Project Management, Impact of Solutions, Sustainable Business Models and Product Innovation. This year, Bonnie’s focus is on working with Island Growers to bring the first-ever hurricane-resistant hydroponic greenhouses to Caribbean resorts.
