About Maisy Lus
Maisy originates from Papua New Guinea (PNG). She is the Executive Director of the Fish Reef Project PNG, a non-profit organization that specializes in constructing and deploying concrete artificial reefs with the vision to see ocean life thrive. Maisy’s role involves surveying the best reef sites around PNG, engaging with local communities, monitoring the reefs, and deploying reefs where they can best serve both the oceans and humans equally. Maisy holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Papua New Guinea. She has research interests in ocean acidification, artificial reefs, and pristine coral reef structures to aid in concrete artificial reef design. She aspires to be a leading STEM researcher in the region.
