About Shayla Ellick
Shayla is from St Helena, a UK Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic which is home to a third of the UK’s unique wildlife. With her background in environmental management and passion for protecting and conserving nature she has worked in St Helena’s environment sector since 2013, focusing on environmental mitigation and endemic habitat restoration projects.
Since October 2021 Shayla has worked as the Co-ordinator for the St Helena Cloud Forest Project, an exciting and collaborative project working to upscale restoration of St Helena’s threatened cloud forest for biodiversity, water security, climate change resilience, and the local community.
