About Tanja Lieuw
Tanja was born and raised in Suriname and holds a MSc degree in both Hydrology (Civil Engineering) and Conservation of Biodiversity in the Caribbean. As the Conservation Finance Program Manager, she is responsible for managing the partnerships and engagements with 12 countries in the region who benefit from the CBF Endowment Fund and to ensure that the countries can have access to sustainable sources of funding for conservation actions on the ground. She has over twenty years of experience working on sustainable environment topics in Latin America and the Caribbean such as on climate change policies, REDD+, climate and conservation finance and managing large to medium scale projects and programs with different donors such as GEF, IDB, UNDP, GCF, and others. She has worked for various government and international organizations in Suriname, Guyana and Chile and the Caribbean region.
