SIDS are facing some of the most severe impacts of the climate crisis. They are responsible for less than one percent of global carbon emissions, but are facing the devastating reality of becoming uninhabitable as a result of the rising sea levels caused by climate change. This is one of the issues that will be explored during the upcoming Virtual Island Summit, which features roundtable events and networking sessions. VIS2021 will be a focal point for policymakers, academics, NGO leaders and entrepreneurs to share solutions, and hear the stories of islanders all over the world!
